I independently developed DidYouSleep, a sleep-habit app that rewards users with “prosperity” credits when they meet their sleep goals. Those credits help grow a virtual planet, connecting a daily habit with a small sense of progress.
The design challenge was to make a sleep-habit app feel calm and rewarding at night. The interaction needed to communicate progress clearly while giving users a reason to return to their goals.
Created the sleep-habit app and its prosperity-credit mechanic, linking completed sleep goals to the growth of a virtual planet.
Designed a calming nighttime interface using Apple’s Liquid Glass visual style, with buttons that scale on interaction.
Designed a sleep-state ring to communicate the current state. Used Cursor for coding, Seedream for image generation, and Grok for video generation.
Sleep goals lead to prosperity credits, which contribute to virtual-planet growth.
A calm visual treatment and Liquid Glass-inspired interface support the evening experience.
Scaling buttons and a sleep-state ring provide immediate visual responses.
Combined coding assistance, generated imagery, and generated video in the development workflow.
Completed an independently developed app project for the 2026 Swift Student Challenge context, bringing together a virtual-planet reward mechanic and a calming nighttime interface.
